Abbey iMEC is a low-volume oral paste containing ivermectin for broad-spectrum parasite control in horses. It treats and controls susceptible roundworms, including arterial larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris and benzimidazole-resistant strongyles, as well as bots and certain parasite-related skin lesions.
The calibrated 7.49g syringe treats horses according to bodyweight, with one full syringe sufficient for up to 700kg liveweight.

Important: Abbey iMEC is an ivermectin-only wormer and does not control tapeworm. Where tapeworm treatment is required, use an appropriately registered praziquantel-containing horse wormer as part of a suitable parasite-control program.
Dosage and Administration
Administer orally at the recommended dose rate of 200 micrograms of ivermectin per kilogram of liveweight.

• Each syringe marking delivers 1.07g of paste, sufficient to treat 100kg liveweight
• Accurately determine the horse’s bodyweight before setting the syringe
• Ensure the horse’s mouth is free from food before dosing
• Insert the syringe into the side of the mouth through the gap between the front and back teeth
• Deposit the paste towards the rear of the tongue
• Raise the horse’s head briefly after dosing to help ensure the full dose is swallowed
Avoid underdosing. Resistance may develop to any anthelmintic chemical, so worming decisions should form part of a considered parasite-control program. Faecal egg counts and veterinary advice can help determine appropriate treatment timing and product selection.

Important Information
Some horses carrying heavy Onchocerca microfilariae burdens may experience swelling or itching after treatment due to large numbers of microfilariae dying. These signs usually resolve within a few days; seek veterinary advice if they persist.
