Vaccines stimulate an immune response and require the correct primary course and booster schedule. Tetanus antitoxin is a different product that provides short-term passive protection in particular circumstances; it does not replace routine vaccination. Ask your veterinarian which product and schedule are appropriate for your horse, considering its age, vaccination history, health, travel and exposure risk.
