Ausrichter Austrazole Topical Fungicide is a concentrated leave-on treatment for the control of ringworm and other forms of dermatomycosis in horses.
Its active ingredient, enilconazole, is a broad-spectrum topical antifungal agent with activity against dermatophytes including Microsporum and Trichophyton species. Austrazole is diluted with lukewarm water before use and applied as a wash or spray. The treatment is left to dry on the horse and should not be rinsed off.
Ringworm is contagious and can spread between horses, people and contaminated equipment. Veterinary diagnosis is recommended so that appropriate treatment and environmental hygiene measures can be implemented.

Dilute 1 part Austrazole in 50 parts lukewarm water. To prepare 1 litre of diluted emulsion, measure 20mL of Austrazole and add lukewarm water to make a total volume of 1 litre.
Prepare only the quantity required for immediate treatment. A 100mL bottle makes up to 5 litres of diluted emulsion.
Remove crusts from the skin and hair using a hard brush soaked in the diluted Austrazole emulsion.
At the first treatment, spray or wash the entire horse, ensuring that the hair and skin are thoroughly wetted. Apply the diluted emulsion to the infected lesions and surrounding areas for the second and third treatments. Wash or spray the entire horse again for the fourth treatment.
Complete four treatments at intervals of 3–4 days. Apply the emulsion and allow it to dry. Do not rinse off.
Environmental hygiene:
To help reduce reinfection from fungal spores, freshly prepared diluted emulsion may be used to wash or spray contaminated stable equipment, tack, girth straps, saddles, harnesses, bridles, headstalls, riding boots, grooming equipment and other items used on the affected horse.
