Horslyx 5kg Balancer Holder

The Horslyx 5kg Balancer Holder provides a secure and convenient way to offer a 5kg Horslyx Balancer in the stable while helping protect it from hooves, bedding, hay and other debris.

The holder includes a removable restrictor grill that limits the exposed surface of the lick. This can help manage access for horses and ponies inclined to consume their Horslyx too quickly. The grill may be removed where restriction is not required.

Positioning the holder away from hay and other feed can also encourage the horse to move around the stable, which may be particularly useful for horses spending extended periods indoors.

How to use

Remove the 5kg Horslyx Balancer from its original container before placing it in the holder.

Flex the sides of the container away from the lick, turn the container upside down and knock firmly on its base. Once released, turn the balancer upright and place it into the holder.

A gap may initially remain between the lick and the sides of the holder. Horslyx Balancers naturally “cold flow” to conform to their surroundings. Over time, the balancer will spread into this space and become more securely seated in the holder. This occurs more quickly in warmer conditions.

Fit the removable restrictor grill when required to reduce the exposed licking area and help manage consumption.

Important information

Frequently asked questions:

Does the Horslyx Balancer come with the holder?

No. This listing is for the reusable 5kg holder and restrictor grill only. The Horslyx Balancer must be purchased separately.

Which Horslyx products fit this holder?

It is designed for the 5kg size of Horslyx Balancer. It is not intended for the Mini Horslyx or 15kg balancers.

What is the restrictor grill for?

The removable grill limits the exposed surface of the balancer. It can help slow access for horses and ponies that consume Horslyx too enthusiastically.

Can the restrictor grill be removed?

Yes. The grill is detachable and may be removed if restricted access is not required.

Do I leave the Horslyx Balancer in its original container?

No. Remove the 5kg balancer from its original container before placing it upright in the holder.

Why is there a gap around the balancer?

A gap is normal when the balancer is first placed in the holder. Horslyx naturally cold flows and will gradually spread into the available space, helping secure it in position. This process generally occurs faster in warmer conditions.

Can the holder help keep the Horslyx clean?

Yes. It helps protect the balancer from contact with hooves, bedding, hay and other stable debris.

Can this holder be used outdoors?

Horslyx describes the 5kg model specifically for stable use. The larger 15kg holder is the model promoted for both stable and field use.
