When looking for a diagnostic tool to maintain equine health, the RayTemp 8 is an incredibly accurate early warning system suitable for use by anyone.

Vets and horse owners may be adept in feeling horse leg temperatures with their hands, however, there are times when this might not be practical. Also having an exact reading allows a person to keep temperature records and analyse changes in temperature over a period of time. The RayTemp 8 is an infrared non-contact thermometer with laser alignment that will instantly indicate where there are hot spots. Simply aim, pull the trigger and the temperature will be displayed on the digital LCD display. A difference of as little as ±2°C should warrant keeping a watchful eye on the horse's health, as it could easily develop into an incapacitating injury. Problems with tendons, ligaments, buck shins and splints are easily detected with regular scanning.

The RayTemp 8 works equally well with wet or dry legs and the amount ofhair on the leg generally doesn't make a difference to the readings.

Description

The RayTemp 8 portable gun-shaped infrared thermometer is compact, lightweight and easy to use. Simply aim and pull the trigger to display the temperature of the item being measured. The thermometer displays temperature over the range of -60 to 500 °C.

The instrument has a clear, easy to read, LCD display with low battery indication and incorporates an auto-power off facility that turns the instrument off after 60 seconds, maximising battery life. The RayTemp 8 now features an eight dot circle laser indicator, which allows you to precisely target the diameter of the area to be measured. As you move closer or further from the target the laser circle changes diameter.

The RayTemp 8's three-button keypad, allows the user to select °C/°F and max/min. Additionally, the difference between the max and min temperature and the average temperature can be displayed.
